The train heads away towards Cranford along  the former main line from Jersey City Terminal closed in 1967. These were push pull trains with upto 10 or 11 cars of some vintage, some from the 1930's, 14-10-75 Sat 7th Mar 2009

Joliet is about 40 miles south west of Chicago, where the twin tracks of the BNSF Ex Santa Fe and Gulf Mobile & Ohio now property of Union Pacific cross the Rock Island.
